Metaverse and Logistics
Today's trend seems to be preparing us for a different universe. So what will the logistics industry do in this world? What can be expected of today's logistics? Today, let's first understand the world of metaverse so that we can talk about metaverse logistics in our next blog. Then let's get started.
What is Metaverse?
The universe means universe in English. That's where the metaverse comes from the meta-universe. Metaverse, the fruit of the dizzying pace of technology that is beginning to ripen these days, is emerging as the digital world that allows people to move and communicate between different devices in the virtual environment. Although it crosses the virtual term in its definitions, it is certain to radically change our concept of reality. Think about it, you are in a virtual world thanks to technological devices without physical effort and all your perceptions, senses are clear...
Order in the Metaverse World
The Metaverse world has its systems and terms. We're not that unfamiliar with some of them. For example, augmented reality is based on the real world and also uses computer-generated images. Let's list the other terms as follows:
Meatspace: Meatspae, although we call it a virtual world, defines it by cyberspace, meatspace, by contrast, the physical world pays off.
Mixed reality: Mixed reality... It defines a view of the real world with the addition of virtual objects that look and move like real objects. Users can interact with both virtual objects and real objects.
Multiverse: The general definition of the multiverse refers to many different universes that usually operate independently of each other. In the context of technology and social media, Facebook means Minecraft, Instagram, Twitch, Roblox, Fortnite, Discord and all other virtual social media and gaming places where people socialize, play, shop. The Metaverse, on the other hand, collects all these multiverses at a single length.
Virtual reality: Virtual reality... Again, this familiar term collects physical training and games in cyberspace.
Transition to the Metaverse World
Preparations for the transition to the world of Metaverse are in full swing. Facebook has a huge role to play in this process. As a company, it now defines itself by its meta name. It is predicted that the digital world, where the real and virtual worlds merge, will change the way all social, political and commercial relations are united. As we mentioned above, we know that new technologies based on augmented reality and virtual reality products and services are waiting for us. The key to the transition to Metaverse is Web 3.0, the next generation of the internet. We have already started talking about web 3.0 while we are just getting used to web 2.0, which includes social media channels...
Metaverse and Logistics
As we mentioned in the introduction, we will discuss this topic in our next blog, but let's mention it this way. Metaverse isn't just changing the gaming and entertainment industry. It is also expected to transform social dynamics, economic and political processes. Metaverse, which will reveal a new form of commerce and relationships that is closely related to the logistics and retail sectors, will be fully integrated into our lives with the arrival of web 3.0. Web 3.0 defines the transition to a universe where the internet is based on machine learning and artificial intelligence. The data is produced, processed and evaluated by machines, not humans. With Metaverse, it is possible to shop and have meetings in a holographic environment. With metaverse, which will have a profound effect on the way they do business, it is expected to restructure areas dominated by e-commerce, especially retail and fashion. For the system to become widespread, the number and quality of virtual reality hardware need to increase. It is also estimated that there will be approximately 3.5 billion augmented reality users in 1-2 years, which means more than 25% of the world's population.
I think sci-fi movies are coming true. What do you think about that?
